On the 13th of October 2003 Sir Roger Moore, producer Robert S. Baker and production supervisor John Goodman were reunited to do the audio commentary to the very first episode of the Saints called The Talented Husband. They recall their memories that brought the series to television.

A&E The Persuaders DVD box set 1 The actual restored Aston Martin used in The Persuaders in the background. The commentary throughout the program is extremely interesting providing background information on the program and the cast. Wonderfully entertaining with an obviously warm friendship existing between the three main characters behind The Saints success. Also the commentary is sprinkled with exceptionally amusing memories from Sir Roger and his two fellow production friends.

There are many highlights on these DVD’s. Example when the first episode opens Jaz Wiseman asks Sir Roger Moore about the technique of The Saint talking directly to the camera at the beginning of each episode. Jaz points out Michael Caine in his film called Alfie in 1966 was credited with using this technique first but as Jaz points out Roger used this in The Saint episodes starting in 1962.

Jaz to Roger “So how did this come around with The Saint talking to camera in every episode”?

Roger “It was Bob's idea that we should address the camera to take the audience into our little secret and share it with everybody”

Jaz askes Bob “If he has anything to add to that”?

Bob “The whole point is this is a fairy story of adults” at this point

Roger interjects quckly “this is obviously why they had me playing the fairy” was received by much amusement from all.

Bob continues “we wanted to have a totally different approach to this action adventure show and so we decided to take the audience in with this tongue-in-cheek representation of the story which is to follow”

Quote "I cannot recommend these DVD’s strongly enough to all The Saint / Roger Moore Admirers. The discussion / commentary runs through the entire program and is an absolute must see ". Alan Davidson Web manager www.sirrogermoore.com
