Sir Roger Moore was
being honoured by being presented with a blue plaque at Elstree
Studios on the 31st of October 2006. I being his web manager was
given the honour and opportunity to report the event for his official
website. So here I will endeavour to give all his fans hopefully
a story which will make them feel they had attended themselves.
At approximately 3:30
p.m. on the day in question I was approaching Elstree studios when
I noticed outside there were two white Volvo Saint cars. They each
supported the Saint’s number plate ST1 but not only the number
plates, on closer inspection the bonnet of one of the cars was signed
with an extremely large signature by Sir Roger, Bob Baker, and Johnny
Goodman. This would surely make this particular car an extremely
nice piece of memorabilia to say the least! I only wish I owned
that particular
vehicle now.
The
two pictures below of the car kindly forwarded by Ian Knowles

I then noticed at this
point that Sir Roger’s extremely efficient personal assistant
Gareth was also approaching the venue. We entered the main room
where the plaque was to be unveiled and there were already quite
a large number of people who have mostly to some capacity worked
on the series “The Saint”.
Just before
4 p.m. Sir Roger and his beautiful wife Lady Kristina Moore entered
the room and of course suddenly the atmosphere changed as the focal
point of the celebration was here. Sir Roger was immediately surrounded
by a crowd of what would be mostly friends and working colleagues
who were all wishing to congratulate him.

As always
Roger was his charming self and spent as much time as possible speaking
to everybody.
