And

You

here.
As usual Roger's speech
was to say the least enormously funny and entertaining, while still
retaining his obvious gratitude and friendship to all these old
friends and colleagues of the programme gathered together for the
first time in this room.
There was
an excellent band of musicians and choir who sang a very rowdy version
of Nobody Does It Better BUT ! with special words for Roger. During
the song everybody loved the very amusing version of this song.
You
can read the words of the song here

With the main part of
the event now finished Roger was crowded by journalists all seeking
their story
and photo shoot. Roger was surrounded by people all wanting his
attention, and as a professional he dealt with them charmingly and
efficiently trying to give them as much of his time as possible.
There was also a group
photograph which had been organised with many famous faces to be
seen.
Such as Bob Baker, Johnny
Goodman, Malcolm Christopher, Peter Manley, Jeremy Summers, Francis
Matthews, June Randall, John Hough, Marcia Stanton, Jimmy Devis
... the list goes
Finally at the end of
the evening Sir Roger made his way towards the rear of the room
where there was a special cake of the Saint which just needed the
gentleman himself to do the honours and signify the finale of this
celebration on the series which represented one of the most successful
programmes on television which is fondly remembered by millions
of people throughout the world, many of which grew up watching the
programme.
At this point the true
life UNICEF Saint Sir Roger Moore and his wife Lady Kristina leave
the room with a lot of very happy people with memories of this special
evening.
Thank
you Sir Roger Moore UNICEF special ambassador.
Three
people from Roger Moore's official website were lucky enough to
attend the event.
And you
certainly can't get two more dedicated admirers of Sir Roger, than
Martin and Marie-France (Brett) from the Roger Moore forum who both
attended the event. Brett got four kisses from Roger on the cheek
that night, Martin and myself got none… thank goodness :-)
