Roger
Moore first became associated with UNICEF by promoting
greetings cards in radio announcements prepared by the
US Committee for UNICEF, in the early 1980s. At the
suggestion of the late Audrey Hepburn, herself also
a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, Roger Moore took on an
official role with UNICEF in 1991. Since his appointment,
Roger Moore has given outstanding service to the world’s
children. He has undertaken many field visits to see
UNICEF programmes in action in countries such as Costa
Rica, Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Macedonia,
Mexico and the Philippines. He has met with presidents
and senior government officials in many countries to
discuss the situations affecting children.
