On November 18, acclaimed lighting designer Ingo
Maurer and Baccarat, the 240 year-old French-based luxury goods
company whose name is synonymous with the world's premier hand
crafted luxury crystal, will unveil their latest creation - a
16-foot outdoor chandelier that sparkles with 12,000 glittering
Baccarat crystals.
This magnificent creation, which will grace the
intersection of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan for
the entire holiday season, will be lit by actress and U.S. Fund
for UNICEF National Ambassador Sarah Jessica Parker.
The event will feature UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
Sir Roger Moore, actor Barry Bostwick and a performance
by UNICEF's newest National Ambassador, the Grammy Award winning
singer songwriter India Arie.The UNICEF Snowflake Lighting Ceremony
will be aired live during a one-hour special on CBS 2.
The lighting ceremony will be preceded on November
16 by the first annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball, presented by Baccarat,
at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, hosted by Bryant Gumbel and featuring
Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves. The U.S. Fund for
UNICEF will shine a light on children's champions at this black-tie
fundraiser, presenting the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award to
Sir Roger Moore, longtime UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
