Roger Moore's story in his own words

Sir Roger Moore actor and film producer. Roger Moore made his acting debut in the early 50 ' at MGM Studios.

Later in 1962 Roger Moore's biggest break came when he was cast in the role of Simon Templar in The Saint. This part gave him international stardom but in 1969 Roger left the role and a little while later he was coaxed into the role of Lord Brett Sinclair in The Persuaders by Sir Lew Grade. Production started in 1970 with Tony Curtis playing his buddy called Danny Wilde in the 24 four-part series which is one of the most lavish programs to date.Although The Persuaders was scheduled to run for five seasons at the end of series one in 1971 it ended when Roger was offered the role of a lifetime as James Bond. Rogers first outing as Bond was in Live And Let Die in 1973. Twelve years later and with seven 007 films under his belt (more than any other actor) Roger left the role. In 1991 Roger became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador focusing much of his time on AIDS prevention and helping humanitarian relief for the Third World. In 2003 Roger was made a Knight Commander of the British Empire, and became Sir Roger Moore. The very same year his extensive work for UNICEF earned him the German Federal service Cross. In 2007, Roger Moore received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in the fall of 2008, he released his autobiography, My Word is My Bond. Sir Roger Moore is still active as a UNICEF Ambassador and is also available as an actor
