Dear Roger Moore,

I enjoyed your 007 movies immensely.  I read some where your father was a policeman.  Did the fact that your father was a policeman contribute to your success as an actor?  I would think self discipline played a part in your success.

No name just member name = ITV !

Hi

No I wouldn't say my father being a policeman contributed to my success as an actor, though he was an amateur actor himself and I probably caught "the bug" from him. Self displine plays a part in everyone's life, not just children of policemen. Though he did teach me great values which have remained with me all of my life.

Dear Sir Roger,

First of all I wish you a belated Merry Christmas!

I don’t know anyone who has been on such an extensive world tour like you. It must have been 7 weeks or so, New York, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Norway, and the Netherlands. You even have beaten Phileas Fogg…

Numerous book signings, speeches and interviews. Probably impossible for anyone to remember everything immediately. But I imagine you might now be at home in Switzerland and perhaps many impressions are coming back to your mind now and many memories of the past weeks are sinking in only now.

My question: Is there anything, any event, any happening, any moment any something that sticks out the most when casting back your mind and remembering your world tour?

With all wishes for a very happy and healthy 2009 for you and your family!

Regards Martin

Hello Martin

It was 10 weeks actually, but who's counting?!

I think the warmth with which Kristina and I were always welcomed was a very memorable part of the tour. Many people were kind enough to say they've enjoyed my work and thanked me - that is very humbling.

At one of the book signings in New York, a very nice chap came up to get his book signed and mentioned we'd met 30 years before when he was starting out, on the Tonight Show. He wanted to be a writer, and said I offered him great encouragement. "This is my Dirk Bogarde moment" he said, referring to a story in my book when I said I was never able to thank Dirk for getting me a film called The Miracle. "Thank you". And with that he handed me an envelope and walked off.

Later on, in opening the letters left for me I came across the envelope. It again explained how we'd met, and went on to say that he had achieved success and fortune and wanted to thank me ... and enclosed a cheque to UNICEF for $10,000. I was speechless.

So yes Martin, things like that have really touched us and we have again been reassured just how kind, considerate and caring the majority of people in the world are.

Sir Roger Moore,

The economic  crisis is here. Everybody is talking about the critical situation that might last more or less.

May I ask you if you personally have been touch by the situation.

Do you think that the economic situation could also affect the donation to UNICEF around the world and its functioning ?

PS : Congratulations for your fantastic book. Fans are now waiting for the Episode II.

From Philippe (France

Hello Philippe

Yes the economic doenturn is a worry because when people tighten their belts, the first thing they do is stop donating any spare money they once had to good causes. So charities are always the ones who suffer most. Hopefully though we will come out of the slump soon, and things will be on an upwards trend again.

But you know, I heard a reporter say that the "Blitz spirit" was back - even in our toughest hours, we find it in our hearts to help others. That is very true.

Dear Sir Roger,

I recently read that Johnny Depp, an actor I appreciate, was slated to play the main character in a movie based on your memoirs "My World Is My Bond". The minute I read about it, I thought the idea was terrific! Is it confirmed? How do you like the idea and whose idea was this?

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year! May you get all your wishes but one, so you always have something to strive for.

- Eric

Hi Eric

Well, what can I say? Not a lot really - there have been a couple of enquiries with my agent, and someone, somewhere, mentioned Johnny Depp - for whom I have the greatest admiration. So who knows ... it would be fun though, wouldn't it?

Hi Sir Roger,
I've been curious to inquire:
What are your religious beliefs, if any at all, and did they change over the course of the years?

Thank you and Blessings
Matan, 20
Israel

Hi Matan

I have always believed in a greter good, that what we have on earth is only loaned to us by this greatness ... but I don't have any specific religious beliefs.

hello sir roger, firstly i would like to wish you a very merry christmas and health and happiness for the coming year.my question to you sir roger is during your 12 years as bond you had a lot of very memorable lines,i was wondering if you have a personal favorite, a line that when you hear it always makes you smile and if so why? god bless your friend derrick.

 Hello my friend Derrick

It would have to be from The Man With The Golden Gun, when Bond "interrogates" the gun maker. Bond points a rifle at his groin and says "Speak now or forever hold your piece"

Wonderful!!
