Dear Sir Roger,
During the Christmas holidays I have had the luxury
of being able to spend time watching more television than normal.
But unfortunately this year the overpowering contrast of what
should be a time of love to fellow mankind has been shadowed by
the disaster in Asia. Even New Years Eve was understandably a
subdued affair with very probably more than 150,000 DEAD!! Familys
and children left homeless and suffering!!! Anyway thank you Sir
Roger for sending us your statement for your website and also
placing all the information on there how to donate online from
your website. Because of your hard work for UNICEF I know you
will inspire more people to do something individually from our
safe and secure well off countries. Keep us updated on your works.
My question is.
Is there any UNICEF products we can buy/recommend through yours
or UNICEF’s website that would encourage more people to
send there money for Asia? I know this may make some of humanity
sounds materialistic but I don’t mean to. I just think people
would donate more, and more often if they could buy something
to show for their efforts. It would still hit the target geting
money to disaster effected nations. If there is nothing to buy
I know we can just do our bit and send what we can afford. Mary

Words cannot describe the
sheer horror of what has happened in Asia - and what continues
to happen. The real threat now is disease. Without suitable medicines
and aid, a great many more victims could be claimed. This is now
a priority for the United Nations and UNICEF to target.
Donations are the best way to help. By purchasing items from the
UNICEF website, you will ensure the continuing work of the charity
- but direct donations to the disaster relief fund are now desperately
needed.
Every penny is valued.
Hello Sirt Roger
I think you are the epitome of style, dating back
to your Saint days. You wore an Omega watch in one episode, and
Saint "stickfigure" cufflinks in another. Were these
your personal items? Also, were the clothes your personal suits
by Cyril Castle, or just wardrobe?
All the best . . .

They were all supplied by
the wardrobe department, and in the case of expensive items like
the Omega watch, they were always very eager to get them back
at the end of the day's filming. I never wore my own personal
suits, because we would always need 2 or 3 identical suits (of
any one type) in case there was an accident on set. Had we only
one, and something happened to it, then it would throw the whole
continuity of the episode out

Dear Sir Roger
This message might be a bit controversial, but here goes...
Over the years you played a number of roles. One of the more recent
films in which you make an appearance is "Boat Trip".
Now one doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to note that the
role you are playing of Lloyd Faversham is, how shall I say this,
somewhat camp. Some of the more conservative people may not like
it, while other do (let's face is, every actor has their gay admirers).
You have played a small role as a woman before in "The Persuaders",
and although your character in "Boat Trip" was light-hearted,
but were you in any way opposed to play such a openly gay character?
Or did you find it might be fun or a challenge to do something
different. by Rainard

Had I been opposed to playing
a gay character, I wouldn't have made the film! I actually thought
it sounded great fun, and I would be playing against type - for
a change. It was fun to make and aside from one letter from a
Greek fan, or ex-fan as he wrote; everyone enjoyed seeing me camp
it up.

Dear Sir Roger Moore
I have read in some sites in the web that you will
film two pictures, one titled “Victor” (about the
history of Frankenstein) and another animated, this is true? Many
of your fans wants see you in the big screen again , is there
any plans. Dixon Moya

I am not appearing in VICTOR.
A script was sent to me some time ago, and I passed on it. So
no, you won't be seeing me in it. PETER COTTONTAIL on the other
hand is a film I'm involved with. I've recorded all of my dialogue
and look forward to seeing the completed animation.
There are one or two other things upcoming, but not yet confirmed.
One involves an old friend. Haloed be his name.

Hi Roger,
Marie-France, Domino, Alan and myself went to the Richard Kiel
afternoon at Pinewood organised by Bondstars and it was a truly
great day and enjoyed by all,
and to finish the day we went the Black Horse pub at Iver Heath
near Denham where you used to live.
Have you got any memories of this pub you could share with us
?, if so we
would love to hear about them. Also would you consider doing an
afternoon at Pinewood in the near future as there are a lot of
members on this board who would love to meet you in person which
definitely includes myself.
Take Care to you and your Family.

The Black Horse is one of
many in the Pinewood area where we sometimes broke for lunch during
filming! There is another Black Horse in nearby Fulmer where we
filmed an episode of THE PERSUADERS too. I'm not really a pub
person though, so rarely visited them otherwise.
I have heard good reports about the Richard Kiel afternoon. I
haven't received my cheque for doing the video introduction yet
though. I was depending on that to buy a turkey at Christmas,
so instead we had boiled eggs.
The problem I have is committing to anything such as that in advance.
My schedule changes constantly and to organise such an event would
take many months. It would be unfair of me to suggest I could
do something, and then a few weeks before cancel.
Who knows though - never say never.

Sir Roger-
I was lucky enough to meet you in University College Dublin some
weeks ago, and on that occasion you light-heartedly bewailed the
fact that you had forfeited that nights' episode of Strictly Come
Dancing in order to be with us.
My question is, were you happy with the eventual outcome of Strictly
Come Dancing? Did you feel the best couple won?
Many thanks,
Andrew .

Who was light-hearted?! I
was deadly serious! I think Jill did splendidly well.
I love watching the show. They did ask me to do series one incidentally,
but I'm a terrible coward plus devoting so many weeks was very
difficult at that time, as I was travelling a lot with UNICEF.

Thank you to Sir Roger Moore
