Dear Sir Roger, thanks by your generosity to respond
the questions of yours fans. Now I want to ask if there was some
movie or tv show that was fundamental in your childhood, the fantasy
movies has influence a lot the children (In my case “The
Saint” was the tv show preferred). By the way, the fantasy
has revitalized to the British film industry, for example the
saga of Harry Potter. You would like to play in a fantasy movie,
a great production that be seen for millions of children in the
world?
Thanks again.
Dixon Moya.
Bogotá, Colombia.
Dear
Dixon
I'm pleased to hear that enjoyed
the Saint down there in Colombia!
Growing up, I used to love
going to see the Tarzan films with Johnny Weissmuller. I think
he made a dozen or more, and they really were great stories for
an adventure hungry young lad like me. They still run on tv, and
stand up well. Yes I like the Harry Potter films too, and I'm
available (if you know the producer!).

Hello dear Sir Roger Moore.
I'm a littel girl from Denmark, and I am only 13
years old, but I am a very big fan.
My question is: do you have a favourite movie, if
it's not with you. I think that actor's only have favourite movie's
with them self, haha.
Take care Roger and kristina.
And Happy New Year (if it's not to late)
girl-bond-girl (Sabrina)
Hi
Sabrina
Well, my favourite movie hasn't
changed since I first saw it back in 1962, and no I'm not in it!
It is Lawrence Of Arabia. What a film! The director David Lean
really was one of the masters of British cinema. If only they
made 'em like that nowadays.

Hello,
I have absolutely adored watching the DVDs of the
first 2 series of the Saint. What is
interesting
is seeing the way attitudes to women have changed since they were
filmed over 40 years ago. Did you ever feel that certain plotlines
or scripts were - shall we say - patronising to women then? Or
was it simply that everyone accepted that that was how it was
for women in the early 60s? Incidentally, I met you on the set
of the Saint when I was 14. My uncle had a part in several episodes.
You were absolutely delightful to me and made me feel like a grown
up. For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Best regards, Jane

Hi Jane
I'm relieved to hear I was
nice to you!
Well, to be honest I didn't
have time to think too much about the scripts back then, as we
had pretty tight schedules, with an episode every 10 days. I just
got them handed to me to learn. They were of the time, and reflected
the time. Sure, looking back now some of the female parts could
be said not to be particularly strong. But I think it's the same
for virtually every tv show from that period. There were some
excellent actresses in the shows though, and strong female storylines
... but perhaps they came a little later in the 60s when things
were changing.
Hello Sir Roger, I was excited to discover recently
that the film CROSSPLOT is to be released on 20th February this
year on DVD. I discovered the film about fifteen years ago on
TV, and found it to be one of your most enjoyable films
I was wondering if you could share some of your
thoughts and memories of the film? Was it good fun to make it?
Do you think it had a bearing on you eventually getting the Bond
role four years later (after all, you played the man-of-action
in CROSSPLOT very well, and also got to appear alongside your
future "M", Bernard Lee)? I am also a fan of the films
of Alvin Rakoff who, of course, directed CROSSPLOT. Was he a good
director to work for?
Thanks.
Jonathon

Hello Sir,
I'm writing this to ask about your pacemaker. I have a 3yr. old
daughter that has a pacemaker. She just got her second one on
Oct 27. I was wondering if you could tell us a little bit about
why you needed a pacmaker and what kind of pacer you got. Madison
has a Medtronic Insync III. I have alot of articles and pictures
for her for when she is able to read and understand them. I'm
trying to make a book for her of actors, athleles, and politicians
that have pacemakers so she sees that even though she has a pacer
anything is possible.
Kindest regards Susan
.Hi
Susan
I've just had a look and yes
I have a Medtronic too - and it's still working!
I was on the stage in Broadway
a couple of years back when, during a song and dance routine,
I passed
out. Soon after I was on my
feet and fine, though was taken off to the hospital for a check
up. There the consultant determined I had a slightly irregular
heart beat, which caused me to black out. He said I needed a pacemaker
to correct it, and so I had one fitted there and then!
As a result I am now a Patron
of www.stars.org.uk
- an organisation that tries to raise awareness of the
condition of heart beat disorders. Sometimes they can be misdiagnosed,
which leads to far more serious problems.
I heard from one young lady
last year that she was suffering blackouts and her doctor told
her she was an epileptic. Not convinced she decided to do some
investigation and vaguely recalled my news story. She did a search
on the internet, found STARS and went to see her doctor. He agreed
she could be right, and further tests showed it was an irregular
heart beat and not epilepsy.
Thankfully she got the correct
treatment!
Your daughter is far from
alone. Not lon
after I had my op, I received
a note from Elton John saying 'Welcome to the Pacemaker club'.
That was a great boost to me - though my singing hasn't improved
You never walk alone with….a
pacemaker !

Happy New Year Sir Roger!
Firstly, let me ask you if you know anything about
the new "The Persuaders" film? Have they started making
it? Or is it still just a plan? My second question is quite special.
In many countries (just like France, Germany, Checz Republic,
Poland etc.) your films are shown without subtitles. They 'dub'
them instead. That means they take your voice (and of course the
voice of other characters) down and some other actors are talking
in their own languages instead. I find this pretty funny at times.
Have you ever seen any of your films in other languages? Did you
like them? If so, which of your foreign voices is your favorite?
I know its a silly question but having read through almost all
the questions-andanswers I haven't managed to find anything concerning
this subject. So I would be very glad if you answered my questions
especially this second one.
A.C. Ashfield, a huge fan of yours and of your voice
Hi
Mr Ashfild
I haven't heard anymore on The Persuaders!
as a movie, but these things tend to take time. I'm sure you'll
all know before me in any case.
Yes I've come across some of my films and
tv whilst flicking through the satellite channels, and found myself
dubbed. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised at how much better
my performance was.
The important thing with dubbing is that
it should be done by actors, not just voice over artsites. An
actor can capture the mood and feeling much better than someone
just reading lines - so it is rather funny to sometimes see myself
dubbed by a totally flat, monotone voice that stays at the same
level all the way through.
I think there's an actor in Germany who
has dubbed pretty much all my films and tv shows. Not a bad career
eh ... I bet he wishes I was working more now though!
Thank you to Sir Roger Moore
