Dear Sir Roger, You always are the most elegant,
well dressed and well-groomed person I ever saw. You look like
a model and always seem to have been to the hairdresser 10 minutes
ago. How do you mange this?
Best wishes
Martin from Vienna member name Matrin

Thank you Martin. Feel free
to write again - regularly!
I have a very good tailor, Doug Hayward, who looks after me very
well; and my hair is quite well trained - though it is thinning
faster than I care for!
I remember stepping off the
plane once in London wearing a pair of jeans and an open neck
shirt and someone said "oh hasn't Roger Moore let himself
go". I do lounge about the house in a cardigan and comfy
pair of cords, but when out and about I always try to look smart
to avoid similar calls. In fact, the press can be cruel about these
things. A week or so ago there was a photo of Timothy Dalton nipping
out to his corner shop in casual clothes, and a big thing was
made about how he'd let his image slip and swapped dinner jacket
for tracksuit. How many of you dress up to nip to the shop? Exactly!

Hello Sir Roger
Firstly A BIG THANK YOU for the evening at the Barbican
on Thursday the 21st October.
A question I would liked to have asked but didn't
get the chance was, you are often asked your favorite Bond film,
leading lady, I was wondering your favorite car the Volvo P1800
from the Saint, the Aston Martin DBS from The Persuaders, or the
Lotus Espirte from the two Bond films. Maybe your favorite is
another one entirely.
Kind regards Bob member name Bob

Thank you Bob. It was my first
event of this sort and I hugely enjoyed it.
I have a great affection for
the Volvo P 1800, as of course I owned one as well as used one
in the series. It's a beautiful car, and I still drive a Volvo
to this day.

Sir Roger,
You have played some notable heroes over the years,
The Saint, 007, Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Clouseau, I was wondering
if there were any other roles you would have loved to play had
the opportunity arisen? Not necessarily heroes but any particular
character.

Hi Sir Roger,
Imp a big fan of your acting capabilities, but even bigger fan
of the way you present yourself as a person through life..
My question is, if you would be kind enough to answer, is about
how you have kept yourself in shape,
whether
you have used weight training or bodyweight exercises which the
latter where favourites apparantly with Tony Curtis and Charles
Bronson...
Thank you for taking time to answer this question
from an ordinary Joe...
All the best, Jason member name J53ahsl

Dear Joe ... I mean Jason
I always used to do a work
out every morning, for 30 or 40 minutes - press ups, sit ups,
a little jogging. Wherever I was, whatever time my call was, I
would get up that bit earlier and do the routine. Sadly the back
aint what it once was, so I can't do too much of that nowadays,
but I do go for a nice long walk every day and love swimming and
kiing.

Dear Sir Roger,
I have noticed someting about your style, and comdeic
expressions ever since your days as "The Saint", especially
your delivery on the "one liners" like that in "Man
With The Golden Gun": where the sexy "belly
dancer"
exclaims, "I've lost my charm!", and you reply (flawlessly),
"not from where I'm standing"...that was so on the mark,
I get a kick out of how you deliver your "punch lines"
in all your films!
And, I have noticed a "trademark" "double take"
expression, like in the movie "Octopussy", where you
had just escaped being blown up by an enemy missile, and the fuel
gage warning signal goes off, you give it that "double take",
and I notice it in allot of your films, even as far back as "The
Saint".
As an actor did you ever study comedy, or had you done "stand
up" early in your career? Sir Roger, you
have
a certain way of facial expressions, that help the audience focus
on what you are doing, and I think that is so on target, it seems
that too many actors don't have that expressiveness.
Thank you for your great work at UNICEF!!!-I believe that you
champion the cause in a moving way.
Thank you for allowing me to write you, Sir Roger!
God bless you always! Magnifico7

No I never studied comedy,
though I did once attempt a stand-up routine in Pontypridd, Wales,
many years ago. I don't think it was very successful mind, as
I was never invited back and didn't pursue a career as a comic.
My range of expressions are quite limited you know ... it's the
left, right, or both eyebrows

Hello Sir Roger,
Fantastic evening at the Barbican - my family and
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it will be a lasting memory for all
of us. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule
to do the screentalk.
I was wondering if you have any plans to write your
memoirs? I understand that you started on them a while back and
had the misfortune to lose all the work you had done. However,
I am sure your fans all around the world would be delighted to
read your account of your life to date.
Best wishes, Rob member name ST1 Merrett

I'm often asked this. I did once sit down and start
writing ... and the disk it was on was placed on my briefcase
for safe keeping. The briefcase was stolen at an airport and hasn't
been seen since. Maybe it was an omen?
I honestly don't have the time, patience or inclination
to write a memoir at the moment. Maybe in 10 years time when I'm
sat in a nursing home I'll think about it again. By then all my
friends will have written their's and I'll see how nice they've
been towards me -- so be warned!
Thank you to Sir Roger Moore
