Roger Moore displaying his affection for Kristina Tholstrup at her grandson's christening in Denmark

Roger Moore's deepening relationship with the new woman in his life, Kristina Tholstrup, has been very much in evidence in recent weeks. The veteran Bond star has been seen with the Swedish-born socialite on the French Riviera and even more recently he escorted the 54-year-old blonde to the christening of her grandson in Denmark.

Thrice-married Roger, who split up with Luisa Mattioli - hif wife of 33 years - after his relationship with Kristina became public knowledge, flew into Denmark to be with her and close members of her family for the baptism of Lukas, born to Kristina's son Hans Knudsen and his wife, Kenyan beauty Jane.

It was a splendid day for the religious ceremony held at the Asmindered Church in picturesque Hornbaeck, a beachside town just half an hour's drive from Copenhagen. Kristina - Kiki to her friends - wore a navy blue Valentino dress and white hat bought in Harrod's of London and Roger looked dapper as always in a dark blue suit. They presented baby Lukas with a traditional silver cup.

While in Denmark, Kristina and Roger decided to take advantage of their stay, spending most of the week leading up to the christening at a friend's house overlooking the North Sea. Sixty-seven-year-old Roger, who underwent an operation on his prostate in 1993, showed he was in fit form during his many dips into the sea.

They were also spotted at the local supermarket, a far cry from the luxury haunts The Saint star is accustomed to frequent on screen. And both carried their own shopping bags, very much the ordinary couple out on a grocery spree.

Previous to their trip to Denmark, the couple were also spotted on the French Riviera where Roger and Kristina met 12 years ago for the first time, long before they became romantically involved. There, at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, photographers snapped them after they had dined with British composer Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber and his wife Madeleine at one of the seaside resort's restaurants.

As the pictures of them together show they are no longer inhibited about displaying their obvious affection in the open. When news of their relationship hit the headlines last year, the rift between the star and his wife Luisa, 56 - by whom he has three children: Deborah, 31, Geoffrey, 28 and Christian, 22 - became public knowledge, yet they have strived to keep it private.

Roger is reportedly in the throes of finalising the terms of a divorce settlement which could cost him an estimated £10 million in order to marry Kristina, who has been widowed twice. He told one newspaper "We are madly in love".

Luisa has deliberately avoided the glare of the publicy, thus distancing herself from what looked like the makings of a long-winded Hollywood drama.

But it has indeed come as a suprise. Friends of the Moores viewed their marriage as an iron-clad relationship despite their ups and downs and his previous marriages which ended in divorce. He was first married to professional ice skater Doorn Van Steyn, and later to singer Dorothy Squires.

Kristina has also had her fair share of disappointments, but of an altogether different kind. Her fisrts husband, Hans Christian Knudsen, committed suicide after his business failed. He is the father of Kristina's son of the same name whose child's christening Roger and Kristina attented in Denmark. She also has a daughter by him called Christina. She then married Danish industrialist, Ole Tholstrup, who died in 1990 leaving an estimated £25 million, altough the two main beneficiaries were two children by a former marriage. Kristina received flats in London and the South of France.
